Cabin Air Filter- What?
The cabin air filter is a feature found on most late-model vehicles and it cleans the air entering the passenger compartment through the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system. It stops the pollen, dust, and other airborne things that can make a ride in the car a very unpleasant thing if you have allergies or other respiratory problems. So if the filter gets dirty or clogged, just pull it out, right? Only if you want all that junk moving through the tiny fins of the air conditioning coil. This can cause serious problems down the road. Just check out this A/C coil that was run without the cabin filter installed:
Some signs that you need a new cabin air filter include reduced air flow through your HVAC system (like when you crank up the fan and you get more noise than results) and persistant odors coming from the vents. Even if you don’t have these warnings, you should have the filter checked at least once a year, and you may be able to do that yourself.
Many cabin air filters are located behind the glove box and are easily accessible by freeing the glove box from its fasteners (every car is different- check the owners manual). Others may be located under the dashboard and aren’t as easy to reach, or could be under the hood where fresh air enters the HVAC system.
If a repair shop recommends you get a new cabin air filter, ask to see the current one. Depending on how long the filter has been in service, you might be shocked at what you see: leaves, twigs, bugs, soot and grime that covers the entire surface that comes in contact with incoming air. You’ll know it’s time for a new cabin air filter when you see it.

The New Car of Justice!! Dodge Style!
Just when you were getting used to what those Ford Explorer police cruisers look like in your rearview mirror, there’ll soon be a new face in town.
Dodge has unveiled the 2015 Charger Pursuit, featuring the model’s updated look. C-shaped LED running lights and the Charger’s signature crosshair grille make it easy for you to pick out of traffic, while new projector-beam headlamps should help do the opposite for the officers inside.
Powered by either a 292 hp 3.6-liter V6 or 370 hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8, it’s available with all-wheel-drive and is one of the quickest cop cars around. It’s also got cop shocks, cop brakes…you know the drill. One engine not (yet?) available is Dodge’s new 707 hp Hellcat V8, which is rumored to be coming to the Charger lineup. Suffice it to say, the crooks wouldn’t stand a chance against that one.

2.4L Tigershark Scat Packages
Our 2.4L Tigershark engine already provides a bold and powerful driving experience in the 2014 Dodge Dart. The Tigershark Scat Packages take compact performance to the next level with three unique levels of performance upgrades. Completing the Scat Package offerings for Dodge at SEMA is the 2014 Dodge Dart GT, powered by a 184 horsepower 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with six-speed manual transmission.
The Dodge Dart offering consists of three kits, with Scat Package 1 providing a shot in the arm of performance and handling improvements from Mopar through a cold-air intake, performance brake pads and a new short-throw shifter. I may have been a little uneasy with the Renegade at first but after reading about it and looking at some things, I have realized its going to be great! So to begin, the Renegade will becoming out in four different models:Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk!
All models are comparable to the Jeep Cherokee! Same painting scheme on the trailhawk with the same red tow hooks! The Trailhawk will have the class exclusive Jeep Active Drive Low 4X4 System! As well as the Tigershark engine, and the class-exclusive 9 speed automatic transmission! The interior will feature great quality leather, options to help any off-roading situation and cool accent colors! Both Jeeps will have the options for the MySky Open-Air Dual Panoramic Sunroof! Several cool things about this! So its panoramic, the first panel does auto tilt and open!

Hey all you outdoors and camping enthusiasts! I have the perfect camping SUV for you! The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited really is unlimited! It is perfect for all you needs. The 4X4 system will get you to your camp site. The towing ability will carry anything you may need! The really fun though is the tent! There as so many options for tents. My favorite though is this Ursa Minor tent! This nifty pop-up tent is installed on the hardtop of your Jeep Wrangler!! I mean for me this would be perfect! I love camping, the outdoors and all the it includes!
The Redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200!!!
Hey everyone, its been a minute since I last wrote a blog but today I’m get right down to business! The 2015 Chrysler 200 has got to be my favorite mid-sized sedan on the market right now! A HUGE upgrade from its previous 2014 counterpart, this 2015 model packs a huge punch when it comes to new features, looks and safety! Plus, it comes in AWD!!
Only taking 119 feet to stop when traveling at 60 mph, the 200 is now among the best-stopping mid-size sedans! 10 airbags included driver and passenger knee airbags! Rear Park View Camera with rear cross path detection is available! Especially important since automobiles are still the top leader for child death in the US! Adaptive cruise control with the ability to come to a complete stop, forward collision with auto-braking and park assist ( both parallel and perpendicular) is great step forward for Chrysler’s 200!
Important technology is all in the Uconnect system! The easiest system to use and quickest to learn, this will come equipped with Uconnect Access! Start your car from your phone, lock it, voice-to-text, and more! Never take your eye off the road. Also, equipped with 3 USB ports, two 12V DC adapters, and so much hidden storage, you won’t have the wires all over your vehicle! 
Chrysler uses some interesting design features to maximize space inside the 200. The merging of the center stack on the dashboard and the center console between the seats is more effective here than in other cars where this trick has been employed (think Lincoln MKZ) largely due to the functionality of the shifter and location of the electronic parking brake button, both of which are quite intuitive.
The unusual packaging also creates a “bridge” over the footwell area, which functions as usable storage. There’s a clever pass-through for a charging cord and the two-section center console offers more space than most.
Equipped optionally with the leather-trimmed/vented sport seat option ($995), which adds leather interior appointments, heated and ventilated front seats and a six-way power-adjustable passenger seat. A heated steering wheel is optional on all but the base trim.

The Safety of Back Up Cameras!!
In April 2014 the NHTSA enacted the backup camera mandate. By 2054 when all vehicles will have backup cameras, it is estimated that 58+ lives will be saved every year. Some new vehicles have some very cool safety features. Let’s look at the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado as an example:
1. The rear vision camera system has dynamic guide lines to allow the driver, when in reverse, to view objects directly behind the vehicle.
2. The safety alert driver seat warns the driver of potential traffic danger using directional vibration pulses from the seat cushion.
3. Lane departure warning alerts the driver when the truck drifts over a lane line when traveling at least 35 MPH.
