Car and Driver recently came out with their 2015 Editors Choices for top vehicles! Guess what?! The Jeep Grand Cherokee took 1st place for mid-sized crossovers and SUVS!! The Grand Cherokee excels at climbing mountains and social circles.

It offers a variety of powertrains: a 3.6-liter V-6, a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel, and the SRT variant’s 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. Comfortable interiors are trimmed with high-quality materials and offer upscale options. Buyers can step into a four-wheel-drive, V-6 Grand Cherokee for as little as $31,790 in entry-level Laredo trim. Jeep offers the Limited and the more luxurious, Summit, trim levels as well; the $47,190 Overland sits between those two.

Dodge Knows How To Sell Its Viper!

Amazing news!!! After a $15,000 discount, Dodge Viper sales are up 184% in September 2014 from the previous month. Here’s the not so good news: that takes sales from 38 units in August to 108 units last month.

It seems like there are just two possibilities for the Viper’s future. The first is that at its new $86,880 price point, it will reach an equilibrium between demand and value, and continue selling around 100 units a month, which is apparently enough for Dodge to fire up the plant again. The second is that a small pool of opportunistic buyers simply pounced on a decent value, and sales will taper off once they’ve had their fill.

Either way, there’s no better time to pick up a new Viper than right now. It’s a mean, elemental thing. We love it.

You Don’t Buy A Hellcat For The Mileage, Right?!

The “most powerful muscle car ever,” as it comes billed, will be EPA rated at 13 miles per gallon in the city, 22 mpg on the highway for a combined 16 mpg for the eight-speed automatic-transmission version. For the manual shifter, deduct 1 mpg on the highway.

The Hellcat, with a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8 engine, will get better highway gas mileage than a $425,845 12-cylinder Lamborghini Aventador roadster, which comes in at 10 mpg in the city, 16 mpg on the highway and 12 mpg overall, Chrysler points out. he 2014 Ford Mustang with a 5.8-liter V-8 engine achieves 15 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg overall. The Chevrolet Camaro with a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine racks up 12 mpg city, 18 highway and 14 overall.

“The new 2015 Dodge Challenger is the perfect street / strip muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge and SRT Brands. “As the fastest muscle car ever, the Challenger Hellcat can run 10-second ETs at the track, and then get 22 miles per gallon on the drive home. With a starting price of $59,995, there’s nothing else that even comes close.”

The fun though, starts with the safety! Rear Cross Path Detection uses sensors to monitor for vehicles and objects crossing your path when you’re moving in reverse. The system alerts you with an icon in the exterior mirrors if a vehicle approaches from the left or right. Rain-Sensitive Wipers activate automatically when they detect moisture on the windshield. You don’t have to take your hands off the wheel to adjust the wiper controls as the rain level changes. The ParkSense Rear Park Assist System uses sensors that detect objects when your vehicle is moving in reverse at low speeds. The sensors determine relative distance, and readouts in the instrument cluster notify you of the proximity of the object.

The children need to have fun, too! Keep your passengers occupied with a standard dual-screen Blu-ray and DVD Entertainment System that includes second- and third-row viewing screens. Appreciate the designed-in sound of the Infinity nine-speaker system with subwoofer, standard on the Town & Country Limited. Mopar ’14: The Dodge Challenger!

On the streets in the early 1970s, street racers knew to keep an eye out for cars with “shaker” hoods – air scoops mounted on top of the engine that poked up through the hood. It was a sign that serious horsepower lurked inside.

Car fans will want to start watching for the “shaker” hood again next summer, this time on the limited-edition Mopar ’14 Challenger.

But it may be rare that you spot the Mopar ’14 — only 100 copies will be built.  The Mopar ’14 marks the first time a Mopar special edition will be offered in white. You can also keep with tradition, the Mopar ’14 can be ordered in black. Either color is accented with Mopar Blue stripes. Standard is a “shaker” stripe that runs down the center of the hood, roof and trunk lid. Buyers can also choose a heritage A-line stripe that wraps up and over the trunk lid and includes the Mopar logo in the rear quarters, or a rocker panel triple stripe that includes Mopar on the doors. Completing the look are 20-inch aluminum wheels, painted gloss black.

The “shaker” hood scoop sits atop a HEMI 5.7-liter V-8 and funnels air down to a Mopar cold-air intake system. In that setup the Mopar ’14 delivers 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can unleash more power from the Mopar ’14 via the addition of any of the three Dodge Scat Pack kits for the Challenger.

Inside, the Mopar ’14 is finished in black with accent stitching in Mopar Blue. The leather-covered, large side bolster front seats include the Mopar logo embroidered on the seat backs. Each car gets a sporty three-spoke steering wheel, numbered plaque on the dash, Mopar branded key fobs and a unique and personalized owner’s kit.

Moreover, each Mopar ’14 can be personalized at the factory with the Mopar Custom Shops program, as well as Mopar accessories added at the dealership. The list of modifications includes:

Jeep: The SUV of the Decade!

If you are into SUV’s, young or old, the top brands that come to mind are probably: Lexus, Acura, BMW and Jeep! I prefer the Jeep. Jeep, unlike many other brands has adapted its product to serve the many rather than the few! From the Laredo, which can be compared to the Explorer or Toyota’s 4Runner, to the Overland, poor mans Audi or BMW, to finish with the Summit, the rich mans Porsche! The Renegade, coming soon from Jeep, will be pulling all the younger generations out of Kia’s Soul (in my opinion) and back on bored with the SUV powerhouse.
