Ram 2500 Trucks

Back-up camera? Yeah, everybody’s got one. What the heck’s a CHMSL camera?

CHMSL Camera in action!

You tell people about the back-up camera on your truck and their reaction is usually something like “I’ve had one for years. So what?” Well, if your driving a RAM with a Center High Mounted Stopping Light Camera, now you can start a conversation! Everyone who’s hauled a load in the back of a truck has at one time or another thought to themselves “I wonder what’s going on back there. Have I lost anything?” With a CHMSL camera, those unsure feelings are over. This camera is part of the brake light assembly above the back window and it covers the bed of the truck as well as about 4-5 feet around the back of the truck. The best part about this type of camera is that it can be turned on while you’re driving. Hear a rattling noise while your gooseneck is attached? A quick flip of the switch and you’ll see exactly what’s going on back there. Is that noise a loose pop can or is one of the straps that’s supposed to be securing my load hitting the side of the truck? Just one glance & you’ll know for sure. Interested? Carbon Foot? How is your vehicle?

co2_1

The carbon footprint of making a car is immensely complex. Ores have to be dug out of the ground and the metals extracted. These have to be turned into parts. Other components have to be brought together: rubber tires, plastic dashboards, paint, and so on. All of this involves transporting things around the world. The whole lot then has to be assembled, and every stage in the process requires energy. The companies that make cars have offices and other infrastructure with their own carbon footprints, which we need to somehow allocate proportionately to the cars that are made.

hybrid

With this in mind, unless you do very high mileage or have a real gas-guzzler, it generally makes sense to keep your old car for as long as it is reliable – and to look after it carefully to extend its life as long as possible. If you make a car last to 200,000 miles rather than 100,000, then the emissions for each mile the car does in its lifetime may drop by as much as 50%, as a result of getting more distance out of the initial manufacturing emissions.

Find out your vehicles carbon footprint right here! My 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer has made 49.45 metric tons of CO2..

If you are in need of a new car or want something more reliable that also gets amazing gas mileage, Woody’s Automotive Group can handle that! We have over 700 vehicles and each one is fantastic in its own right! Stop in and see us today!

Should I have my cooling system serviced, or just keep an eye on it?

enter image description here

Cooling system problems are a major source of automotive breakdowns. The coolant in your engine is a fluid that absorbs the heat from the engine and transports it to the outside world through your radiator. Servicing your cooling system involves draining and flushing the vehicles cooling system, and then refilling with new coolant.

It’s a good idea to do this because it removes dirt and rust particles that can build up and clog the cooling system, causing problems in both summer and winter. Because the coolant operates in a very hot & hostile environment, it will break down over time. This breakdown can include the rust inhibitors which will leave the small cooling passages in your engine vulnerable to corrosion. If these tiny passages become clogged, you engine will overhead.

Make sure you check your coolant levels periodically. When the engine is cold, the coolant level should be at or above the “minimum” or “fill” line on the plastic coolant recovery tank under the hood. When the engine is hot, the level should be at or just below the “max” line. If the coolant level is low, it may be caused by a leak (either internal or external). Leaks should be addressed ASAP, as no coolant could lead to a catastrophic engine failure. The DO’s and DONT’s of Cruise Control!

All about Cruise Control!

enter image description here

Even though cruise control has been around a long time, there have been several advances in the last few years increasing driver comfort and convenience. The primary purpose of cruise control is to enable you to maintain a minimum speed of 25 mph or greater without holding down the accelerator.

When to NOT use your cruise control:
Cruise control can be dangerous when you CANNOT drive safely at a steady speed. Also, DO NOT use your cruise control on winding roads or in heavy traffic. Cruise control is also very dangerous on slippery/wet roads. On such roads, fast changes in the traction may cause excessive wheel slip, and you could lose control!!

HOW TO:
(ON/OFF): Press this button to turn the cruise control on and off.
(Res +): (Resume/Accelerate) Press this button to make the vehicle accelerate or resume a previously set speed. This button can be pressed to increase your set speed. Each time you press it, the vehicle should accelerate by 1 mph. When passing another vehicle, you can quickly accelerate by pressing the gas pedal. When you let off the pedal, your vehicle will slow back to the set speed.
(Set -): (Set/Coast) Press this button to set the speed or decrease the set speed. Each time you press this button, your speed will decrease by 1 mph.
(Cancel): Press this button to cancel the cruise control.
If you leave your cruise control on when you are not using it, you might accidentally hit a button and go into cruise mode when you do not want to. You could be startled and even lose control. Keep the cruise control turned off until you want to use it!

To that end Woody’s has remodeled its new location, installing plenty of technology, lighting, sound and video screens to get the job done and has brought its very successful, no hassle, sales system to Kansas City. Together these companies conduct business in the continuous 48 states and have office locations in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and California with planned expansions to Maine and Arizona. Woody’s emphasizes a “no games approach” with the same low price posted on the vehicle/internet in their advertising and in the dealership. Woody’s prices are independent third party verified to be among the lowest in the nation with NO hidden tacked on fees. “We don’t raise the prices on ours in order to fool you by showing a higher value on yours” stated CEO, Brent Kline. “My father along with Grandpa Woody taught us how to do business by keeping things fun, simple, friendly and inexpensive” Kline further stated. The sales advisors are paid on a salary, to advise and assist the customer into doing what is best for the customer.” Woody’s picked the Legends Outlet Mall due to its great management, stores and attractions. “The mall…like our dealership… attracts people from a huge region.” “The mall has great stores and restaurants, is well run and has attractions such as Nebraska Furniture Mart, Cabelas, Kansas Speedway, T-Bones baseball, and the MLS Champion Sporting Kansas City soccer team” said Kline. “Furthermore, I believe these customers will travel to our regional location in Chillicothe, MO once they understand how we do business…how different we are from the typical dealer and that we have over 1000 cars available in the Kansas City region alone…not to mention the thousands more available outside of our region” Kline further stated. Kline went on to say “People drive further to eat at a good restaurant and an automobile is the second largest purchase customers make.” “There are good reasons people are willing to drive to and wait for a table at a good restaurant and that is a pleasant vs. an unpleasant experience…only with a car the steaks are higher (pun intended).” “With our no hassle approach and our huge selection, Woody’s is certainly worth the drive” stated Kline. Kline is a third generation car dealer joining his grandfather Woodrow (Woody) Wilson Kline and Woodrow (Fritz) Kline. The original dealership began in 1947 selling the brand of Kaiser Frazier. The store is officially scheduled to open May 8th, 2014.
